Watergum Community is an Organisation founded and run on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. They assist Seaworld Foundation in their efforts for ocean and waterways conservation. I first found Watergum Organisation in December 2024 when someone posted in a group I am apart of on Facebook and I jumped at the chance to possibly see turtles. After completing the online course they supply to do the civilian science for Turtle Walking I was at the beach at 3:30am hoping to see a turtle nesting. I did not see any turtles or find any nests but I started collecting rubbish from the previous days beach goers, I saw how light pollution was a real thing and could be confusing the turtles. I also saw damage to the sand dunes along the beaches where they nest. It really opened my eyes to what the turtles have to battle and that was just walking along the beach!
Watergum Organisation also combats Toads and their destruction to our native wildlife and habitats, platypus monitoring and conservation, water testing and much more assistance in the environmental aspects of the Gold Coast. Being located on the Gold Coast I did find that this was an easy choice to align myself with Watergum. I have donated time and financial assistance in my time with them. I plan to donate a lot more including percentage of profits when the time comes. I would to make regular donations from my personal brand business that is this website and really make a difference. I am always happy to receive emails which you can find on the contact me page of this website and open to all and any suggestions you may have. Thank you for your support and time. Hopefully one morning we will see each other collecting rubbish on the beaches!
